Retro Cassetta
Retro Cassetta, originally a visual artist, has transitioned his passion to music, particularly focusing on cassette tapes from the 1980s, 1990s, and early 2000s. Over the years, he has collected these tapes from flea markets and stores in Morocco, Algeria, and Libya, uncovering a treasure trove of North African music spanning genres like chaabi, raï, rap, rock, and gnawa. Recognizing the cultural significance of these recordings, Retro Cassetta digitizes them, ensuring that they are preserved and given new life, thus honoring and representing the rich audio heritage of the Maghreb region.
