Floating Points, also known as Sam Shepherd, has unveiled his latest single, 'Birth4000,' released via Ninja Tune. Despite his recent acclaimed performance of his Mercury Prize-nominated album, Promises, at the Hollywood Bowl, Shepherd takes a sonic departure with this new track. While Promises featured collaborations with luminaries like Pharoah Sanders and the London Symphony Orchestra, 'Birth4000' offers a crunchy, gnarled, and energetic sound. Already making waves on dancefloors, the track has been played by Four Tet, featured in sets at Finsbury Park and Glastonbury, and headlined Shepherd's performance at the NTS summer party.
