We are optimists, and we think the future is bright. That’s why Paradise City Festival is an event that works with a strict environmental policy. We hope to instigate positive change and inspire our visitors to live sustainably.
In this series, we highlight each and every detail of our plan to minimize our ecological footprint. First up: electricity
We work with a smart power plan. This includes an algorithm that controls our generators to minimize surplus energy consumption. As a result, the energy use per visitor has been significantly lowered over the past years (keeping in mind our total number of visitors has gone up). Since we are not going to increase the total capacity of the festival, we expect the energy consumption per capita to go down every edition.

86% of our energy on-site is renewable. 76% of it comes from HVO fuel (used cooking oil, produced in The Netherlands), and 10% from solar energy harvested from our four smart flowers. The rest of our electricity comes from the local power grid and is provided by a green supplier (Lampiris). All our light installations use LED.
On Paradise City Festival 2022, we want to increase the share of solar power with a bigger number of panels and batteries on site (in cooperation with our partner Audi).
More information on our other green actions will come soon. Head over to our Green Page for additional facts and figures.
