Paradise City wants to reflect on how to take care of each other. We’ve asked ourselves if our festival can be a safe space for all partygoers. Saying we can create an entirely safe space would be pretentious. However, we will put measures in place to make our festival as safe as possible so that we can react fast when something happens.
That’s why we are creating the Angels of Paradise team, a dedicated and easily identifiable team of volunteers on a mission to help our festival guests. Each angel will happily give a helping hand and provide comfort if a visitor is faced with any problem, big or small.
Are you aware of the different forms of violence and discrimination surrounding us? Do you want to develop skills in harm reduction, consent culture, and bystander intervention? Do you want to take action and be part of the change? Join our team and sign up by clicking here (under ‘Citizenship Team’, then ‘Healing Zone’).

What does a shift look like? You’ll either walk around the festival site or stay at the Healing Zone. For each shift, we need two volunteers – our Angels of Paradise always work in pairs. Therefore we encourage you to sign up with a friend. Please keep in mind that volunteers must be clear-headed and sober while working.
There will be a training workshop before the festival. A specially dedicated team will train you to handle different situations and help festival guests get back to safety.
Please keep in mind this is a work in progress; we are all learning along the way. This process is continuous and never-ending, and we welcome you to let us know what you think. We welcome any advice you may have. We hope to attain a collective responsibility to improve our music scene and get it to its full potential of openness, compassion and respect. If you have any questions or remarks, email them at zoe@paradisecity.be (with subject: Angels of Paradise – Paradise City 2022).
